Do you think it is worth paying for a data plan or just using the wifi?

id would like to get the blackjack 2 but it does not have wifi so i would have to buy the 30 dollar data plan along with the 40 dollar minutes. Should i just get the blackberry curve instead and use the wifi whenever i have a chance? thank you
