Flourish Excel question?

Do you have any live plants in the tank? I have heard of a lot of people who praise Excel for killing algae but you have to be careful with it because there are a lot of plants that are very sensitive to Excel. Many of the Vallisneria species will actually "melt" if they are exposed to Excel.
