Help with Windows Files?

I use a application called "Across Lite" to do crossword puzzles on line. However, today when I saved the .PUZ file, it closed that file immediately instead of allowing me to open it and do the puzzle. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to be able to see that dialog again?
