A question on History. why did it take India so long to to get rid of the British Raj?

The people of India are generally lazy and not very smart. Except for working at 7-11s they are not capable of taking care of themselves. They knew without the Brits to protect them, those crazy Muslims would come to their country and blow themselves up. So they basically enjoyed British rule because they were incapable of protecting themselves from the wacko Muslims
